Finally, after more than 6 months of lug'n 50 lbs bags, dealing with hostile customers and getting paid a menial wage, I was able to take advantage of my flight benefits and took off for a short visit to the Israel. On the 19th of June I sat into a nine thousand dollar Business Elite “pod” seat, thumbed through a menu with 4 five-course meal options and headed off to the holy land, or as my family would call it, “The Old Country”. Unfortunately, without going into too much detail, the entrance and exit through customs took much, much longer than I had originally anticipated and was the result of the Lebanese and Palestinian heritage of my last name.
Nicole and I have two dear friends who live out there so I was able to hook up with them and had an absolute blast. They toured me around the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Dome of the Rock, Western Wall and many other touristy/local hotspots. Although there is much more to this story, most of the rest would be best told in person so if you'd want to know more than just ask and we’ll go out for a coffee!
